Last winter we were not going back to Germany for Christmas, but we got our European winter vacation and ski trip anyways – in Colorado!!! Yes, you read right! In the United States!!! For all the Europe and alpine lovers out there, this post is about our European Ski Weekend in German Vail Village, Colorado.

Arriving at Vail Village in Colorado we immediately felt we got catapulted across the Atlantic to the German/Austrian Alps. The Bavarian-inspired village at Vail Ski Resort is by far the most authentic European place we have seen in the US. Strolling through quaint Vail Village you will find Bavarian farmhouse-style architecture, cute Alpine hotels run by Bavarians, and restaurants serving authentic pretzels, Schnitzel, Glühwein (mulled wine), and many more German, Austrian and Swiss treats. A true European food heaven! ♥

For all the Europe lovers: The Bavarian-inspired alpine village at Vail Ski Resort in Colorado is the perfect and most authentic European winter experience there is in the US.

You will find authentic Schnitzel, Fondue, pretzels, sausages, etc. and of course Austrian and German beer.
