When To See The Lupine Wildflowers In Lake Tahoe?

The picturesque purple wildflowers can usually be seen around the months of June and July.

In regards to the time of day, the best time to see and photograph them is around sunset. Then the light gets very pretty and the sky lights up in orange and red tones which makes a nice backdrop for pictures.

Where To Find The Lupine Fields In Lake Tahoe?

One spot where you can find the wildflowers in Tahoe is just North of Tahoe City.

Lupines thrive in loose, moist, and sandy soil, so the beaches of Lake Tahoe are the perfect spots for them.

Lake Forest Beach

At Lake Forest Beach you will find the picturesque purple lupine field right by the lake.

Once you arrive, park your car alongside the road and head to the beach, you can’t miss them!

A Piece Of Advice When Seeing The Wildflowers

When you go see the wildflowers in Lake Tahoe, or really anywhere, please be mindful of the vegetation and don’t trample the wildflowers. Stay on the trail to preserve these beautiful flowers nature has graced us with.

Even if you can’t see it in some of our pictures, we always stayed on the trails and didn’t destroy any lupines. You can get pretty photos even when staying on the trails, it’s just a matter of perspective and creativity.
